The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dirty tries for a takedown but Poirier sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Poirier swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dirty goes for a double leg but Poirier avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Poirier continues to drive forward.
Dirty manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Dirty has Poirier pressed against the cage, preventing Poirier from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dirty prevents Poirier from breaking the clinch.
Dirty slowing the pace effectively.

and Dirty counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Poirier thinking.

Dirty shoots in for a double leg but Poirier sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Poirier throws a nice looking combination but Dirty bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Poirier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dirty circles away quickly and effectively.

Dirty tightens his grip and picks Poirier up, before dumping him to the ground. Poirier manages to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dirty chips away with some ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dirty accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dirty wants to pass the guard but Poirier is keeping the position.

Dirty postures up and lands a big shot to Poirier's brow.
Poirier is rocked!
Dirty loads up on a big left hand. Poirier felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Dirty looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Poirier can't hide his disappointment, as Dirty celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mac Dirty!
Mac Dirty decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
