Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Seia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Beaner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gustavo Seia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Barry Beaner!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beaner throws a head kick that misses.
Seia throws a wild body kick that Beaner sees coming a mile off.
Beaner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Seia was well out of range. Poor timing from Beaner.

Beaner closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Seia taking a breather.
Beaner lands with a left to the head.
Seia scores with a nice hook to the head.

Beaner pulls Seia into guard.
Seia has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Seia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Beaner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Let's hope that Beaner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Seia wants to get up but he can't break Beaner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Beaner thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Seia has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Beaner is proving hard to escape from.

Seia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Beaner moves away.
Beaner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A head kick misses from Beaner.
Seia lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Seia dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Beaner. That did some damage!
Seia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Beaner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Beaner on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Nice takedown defense from Seia. No joy for Beaner on that attempt.
Seia tries to land a front kick but Beaner steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Seia blocks a head kick by Beaner.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Seia. Beaner shrugs it off though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Seia, right into the meat.
Seia lands a nice leg kick that just misses Beaner's sensitive parts.
Beaner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gustavo Seia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Seia throws a sloppy head kick and Beaner moves out of range easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Beaner darts in looking for a takedown but Seia gets double underhooks and turns Beaner into the cage.

Seia tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gustavo Seia will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Beaner dives in for a single leg takedown but Seia sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Beaner is on top in guard.

Beaner decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Seia, up you get!

Beaner is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Barry Beaner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Beaner has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Beaner there as he acknowledges the shot.

Beaner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Beaner lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Seia down.

Beaner decides to stand up, so the ref orders Seia to his feet.
Seia moves forwards but Beaner connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Seia throws a low kick but it's checked well by Beaner.
Beaner closes the distance and clinches up with Seia, looking for a takedown. Beaner pushes Seia against the cage but Seia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Beaner moves into the clinch successfully.
Beaner tries to circle away but Seia has him pinned against the cage.

Seia wants to control from the top but Beaner keeps moving.
Beaner pulls Seia in close to his closed guard and prevents Seia from doing any damage or advancing position.

Seia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Beaner holds on and takes a little breather.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beaner wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Seia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beaner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

I would just about give that final round to Barry Beaner.
I think Beaner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
