Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Coppersmith Algorithm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Sampson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Coppersmith Algorithm's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson throws a body punch but Algorithm moves out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Algorithm has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Algorithm misses with a two punch combination.
Sampson tries to clinch but Algorithm is having none of it.
A combination from Algorithm does no damage.
Sampson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Algorithm ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sampson moves away.
Sampson tries to clinch there but Algorithm circles away.
Sampson tries to close the distance and clinch but Algorithm swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Algorithm lands with a kick to the temple. Sampson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like John Sampson has been cut.

Algorithm misses with a wild body shot.
Algorithm fails to land with a series of punches.
Algorithm swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Sampson has managed to clinch.

Algorithm tries to work over Sampson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Algorithm lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Sampson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Algorithm is keeping busy.
Algorithm tries to throw a body punch but Sampson avoids it by throwing Algorithm back against the cage.
Algorithm has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sampson after a bit of a struggle.

Algorithm successfully pulls guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Algorithm is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Algorithm is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sampson defends well.
Algorithm is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Algorithm is pulling down on Sampson's head. It's preventing any offense from Sampson, at least for the moment.
Algorithm is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Algorithm is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Well, if Algorithm is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Algorithm wants to pass the guard but Sampson is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Algorithm throwing shots but Sampson is blocking nicely.

Sampson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Algorithm is working away from the top position though.
Sampson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Algorithm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Algorithm looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Algorithm winds up and cracks Sampson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


That has opened up John Sampson's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Algorithm wants to work for an arm triangle but Sampson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Algorithm frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Algorithm wants to control the pace but Sampson is squirming around nicely.
Sampson can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sampson is looking to clinch but Algorithm is avoiding it.
Sampson takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Algorithm shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sampson's guard.

Algorithm wants to control from the top but Sampson keeps moving.

Algorithm sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sampson's guard.
Coppersmith Algorithm overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Algorithm wants to take a breather but Sampson is having none of it.

Algorithm is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sampson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Algorithm.
Algorithm moves nicely into side control.
Algorithm misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Algorithm tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Sampson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Algorithm wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

John Sampson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Sampson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
