Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tabata shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ribeiro sprawls well. Ribeiro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tabata gets slowly back to his feet.
Ribeiro displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tabata.
Wesley Tabata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tabata shoots in but Ribeiro avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vinicius Ribeiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wesley Tabata.
Tabata throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ribeiro.

Tabata closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Tabata misses with some punches.

Tabata breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ribeiro wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Ribeiro lands a head shot.

It looks like Wesley Tabata has been cut.
Tabata tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ribeiro counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ribeiro tries to clinch up.
Tabata throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ribeiro's waist but Ribeiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tabata off to one side.
Tabata will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tabata tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ribeiro paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tabata shoots for a takedown but Ribeiro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tabata looks winded!
Tabata shoots in for a takedown but Ribeiro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ribeiro lands a big uppercut and Tabata crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Tabata looks OK. Ribeiro waves Tabata back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ribeiro throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Ribeiro cracks Tabata with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Tabata looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ribeiro finish him?

Tabata is rocked!
Ribeiro connects with a nice cross there... Tabata is looking wobbly and Ribeiro recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Tabata to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Ribeiro jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
