Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chael Connell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunnar Ludvik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gunnar Ludvik was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gunnar Ludvik!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ludvik is defended easily by Connell.
Connell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Connell tries for a takedown but Ludvik sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Connell slaps away a takedown attempt from Ludvik, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Connell lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and Ludvik decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Connell's guard.

BOOM! Ludvik connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Ludvik looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Ludvik takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ludvik wants to control the pace but Connell is squirming around nicely.

Connell bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Ludvik manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Connell sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Connell wants to control but Ludvik postures up.

Connell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Ludvik paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ludvik has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Connell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ludvik connects with a nice short shot to Connell's temple.
Ludvik is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Connell is just riding it out for now. Ludvik eventually gives up the hold.
