Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Genji Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Salles!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki fails with the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Salles. No joy for Aoki on that attempt.
Horrible takedown by Aoki or perhaps it was just good defense by Salles which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Genji Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Aoki fails with the takedown.
Aoki throws and low kick but Salles moves out of range easily.
Aoki is breathing heavily.
Aoki is looking to chop away at Salles's legs.
Salles circles away from the clinch attempt.
Salles shoots in and bounces Aoki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Salles trying to control but Aoki is working from the bottom.
Salles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aoki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Salles slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Aoki prevents Salles from improving position.
Salles tries for a kimura but Aoki is defending well.
Salles decides to stand up, so the ref orders Aoki to his feet.
Aoki tries for a takedown but Salles circles away easily
and Salles counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Aoki!
Salles sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Aoki is trying to escape the mount but Salles keeps good control and instead manages to take Aoki's back.

Aoki tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Aoki bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Salles throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Salles is trying to hold Aoki in close to prevent damage but Aoki has managed to pass into half guard.

Salles tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aoki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Salles doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aoki.
Aoki throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Salles looking for subs from the bottom but Aoki mounts him!
Aoki is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Salles can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Salles is just holding on here. Aoki manages to take his back.

Salles breaks Aoki's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Aoki manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Salles sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Salles dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Salles clinches up against the cage.
Aoki tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Salles gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Aoki keeping moving, preventing Salles from controlling successfully.
Salles forces his way into half guard.
Salles decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Salles shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Salles is trying to work for a kimura but Aoki is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Salles thows a huge punch but Aoki dodges it nicely.

Salles is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Aoki is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
