Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diasaku Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tataki Mizuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Diasaku Machida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tataki Mizuto! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machida avoids the body shot from Mizuto.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Mizuto drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mizuto cracks Machida with a solid left hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mizuto slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mizuto sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Machida's guard. Well, if Mizuto is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Machida is trying to control but can't.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mizuto is working for a submission of some sort.
Mizuto wants to pass the guard but Machida is defending well. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mizuto seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Machida tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mizuto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A momentary lapse in concentration from Machida enables Mizuto to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Machida manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Machida is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mizuto is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Mizuto stands up over Machida, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Mizuto controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tataki Mizuto wasn't active enough on the ground. Mizuto slips a jab and a cross from Machida.
Machida throws a one two combo.
It looks like Tataki Mizuto has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mizuto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mizuto lands in his opponent's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Machida is on top in guard.
Machida has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mizuto pulls Machida in close to prevent any damage. Machida trying to control the position from guard on top but Mizuto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mizuto pushes Machida off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Mizuto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Machida but Machida pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've been informed that Mizuto has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Mizuto showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Machida.
Mizuto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Machida! Mizuto tries to advance to mount but can't. Mizuto is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Machida has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machida is letting Mizuto control him for a moment. Machida is looking for a sweep. Mizuto creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Machida wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Machida manages to get back to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mizuto seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Mizuto wants to pass the guard but Machida is defending well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Machida trying to control from the bottom.
Mizuto wants to advance to full mount but Machida doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tataki Mizuto dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tataki Mizuto's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Machida tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mizuto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mizuto circles away from the clinch attempt and Mizuto decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Machida's guard. Mizuto is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Machida is trying to control the position but Mizuto postures up. Mizuto with a nice head shot there. Machida can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mizuto controls the pace. Mizuto lands a couple of elbows. Machida is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mizuto is controlling him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Machida is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mizuto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Machida swats him away and circles back towards the center. Machida is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mizuto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Machida! Machida seems a little lost for a moment, as Mizuto dominates the positioning. Mizuto moves into full mount! Mizuto lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Machida takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Mizuto goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Machida has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mizuto but great work by Machida. Tataki Mizuto has got the better of the ground game so far. Mizuto tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mizuto is trying to control Machida's posture but Machida avoids it. Mizuto regains half guard there - taking advantage of Machida's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Mizuto is in trouble now - Machida has advanced to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machida throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Machida throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Machida trying to control but Mizuto is having none of it. Mizuto wants to hold on but Machida pushes him away. Mizuto is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mizuto blocking the ground and pound. Machida prevents Mizuto from getting the reversal. Mizuto sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Mizuto works his way to full guard. Good work. Machida is fighting to break Mizuto's control of his arms but Mizuto is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Mizuto pushes Machida off and scrambles back to his feet.
Mizuto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Machida to the mat! Machida manages to get full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mizuto is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Machida is looking to clinch. No luck for Mizuto with that takedown attempt. Machida scores with a head kick. Mizuto tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Mizuto shoots in for a takedown but Machida shows good takedown defense. Machida moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Machida misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Machida gets caught napping as Mizuto dives in and scores a takedown. Machida manages to retain guard. Mizuto throwing strikes but missing. Machida can't keep his opponent in guard - Mizuto advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Mizuto not doing much here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mizuto lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Machida trying to control from the bottom.
Mizuto content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Mizuto's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mizuto swats away the attempt to clinch by Machida. Diasaku Machida is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mizuto takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Machida stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Machida wants it to stay on the feet. Diasaku Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tataki Mizuto. Machida lands with a straight right. Mizuto didn't see that one coming. Machida tries to clinch but Mizuto is having none of it. A solid body kick from Machida. Machida throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machida fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Machida tries to clinch up. Mizuto tries to clinch up but Machida circles away and keeps his distance. Mizuto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice defenses there by Machida. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mizuto gets a takedown into half guard. Mizuto takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mizuto controlling the pace. Machida blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mizuto. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mizuto connects with a nice short shot to Machida's temple. Mizuto content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Machida wants to get back to full guard. Mizuto is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mizuto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Machida's head. Machida is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mizuto pulls his head out easily. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Diasaku Machida has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mizuto has been the more effective fighter overall so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Machida won't allow Mizuto to pass to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Tataki Mizuto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Mizuto winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
