Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gus Dengel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Position (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dengel might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Papillon. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
29 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gus Dengel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Sub Position! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dengel darts in looking for a takedown but Position gets double underhooks and turns Dengel into the ropes. Position has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dengel is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dengel pushes Position back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head. Position takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Sub Position has been cut. Position jumps guard but Dengel turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing. Dengel gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Position.
Gus Dengel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sub Position. Dengel connects with a nasty looking knee right to Position's face.

Position is trying to drag Dengel to the mat but Dengel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. Position's coach down at The Rat Cage was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Position's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Dengel scores with a knee to the head.
Position goes for a takedown attempt but Dengel pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dengel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Position doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Position manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Position wants to control from the top but Dengel keeps moving. Dengel seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Dengel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Position's guard. Dengel wants to control from the top but Position keeps moving. Position wants to sweep here but Dengel controlling him for the moment. Position working for a triangle but Dengel defends it easily.

Dengel postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Position is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dengel, into his guard. Position looking to sit in guard and control but Dengel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Position keeping full guard, as Dengel tries to pass.

Position is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Position is not content to let Dengel control the position. Dengel is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Position doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. It's pretty deep but Dengel still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Dengel has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Dengel is trying to get an arm triangle but Position is defending well. Position is looking for a sweep.

Dengel looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dengel goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Position rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dengel's guard! Nice work there by Position! Dengel wants to sweep but no luck.

Dengel is fighting to maintain full guard but Position has managed to sneak the leg through. Position is keen to just control but Dengel is a slippery customer. Position tries to pass to full mount but Dengel defends it. Dengel wants to sweep but Position has passed to side control! Dengel manages to work his way to half guard, despite Position's best efforts. Position is thwarting Dengel's attempts to control the position. Position looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Dengel is looking for a sweep. Position is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Position is working for a kimura but Dengel is defending it quite comfortably.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Position passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Dengel! Position controlling the pace for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Position can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dengel is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sub Position will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Sub Position's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dengel closes the distance and clinches up with Position, looking for a takedown. Dengel pushes Position against the ropes but Position circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dengel shoots in for a takedown but Position shows good takedown defense. Position looking to score a takedown here. Dengel is defending well but Position drives through and ends up in Dengel's guard. Position tries to free his leg and advance position but Dengel is retaining full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Position pushes down on Dengel's leg and manages to get into half guard. Dengel is looking for a sweep. Position is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Position is pressing down on Dengel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dengel is holding on for now. Position is looking for a kimura but Dengel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Position to get the leverage.

Dengel seems to be working for a kimura but Position defends the submission attempt. Dengel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Position keeps working.
