Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hank Savard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hank Savard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savard shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Savard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Savard had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Johnson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Savard Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Johnson's back instead.

Savard is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Johnson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Johnson for a finish.

Savard postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Johnson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Savard, into his guard.

Savard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Savard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Savard manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Savard's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Savard has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Johnson doesn't defend quickly enough and Savard has managed to lock this one up! Can Johnson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Savard on a fantastic submission victory.
