Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Whisper Welker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romano Redz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romano Redz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redz shoots for a takedown but Welker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Welker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Redz.
Welker throws a big shot that misses.
Redz lands a jab to the nose.
Welker with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Redz to score with a decent uppercut.
Redz darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Redz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Redz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Welker but Welker pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Welker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Welker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Redz manages to avoid it.
Redz might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Welker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Redz shoots in but no luck this time.
Welker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Redz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Welker as he jumps to the side.

Welker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Redz manages to avoid it.

and Welker counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A big left from Redz misses.
Redz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Welker.
Welker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Redz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Welker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Redz moves away.
Redz lands a really nice looking cross but Welker seems unphased.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Redz stuns Welker with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Welker takes one on the chin but seems OK.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Welker has taken the fight to the clinch.
Welker misses with a hook from the clinch.
Welker works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Whisper Welker will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Redz misses with a wild combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Redz. Welker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Redz lands with a cross.
Welker misses with a leg kick.
Redz loads up on a big right hand but Welker slips the punch.
Welker thows a body shot but no joy.

Welker fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Redz checks it well.
Redz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Welker.
Welker's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Redz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Welker scrambles back to his feet.
Welker defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Redz.
Redz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Redz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Redz working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Welker wants to control but Redz postures up.

Redz advances to mount.
Redz takes Welker's back.
Welker trying to control the position but Redz manages to sink in the hooks.
I really don't envy Welker right now.
Welker fending off the submission attempt from Redz.
Redz is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Welker knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Welker for a finish.
Redz is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Welker won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Redz off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Romano Redz!
Our winner, Romano Redz, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
