Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mitchell Menchaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philip Go!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Go takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Menchaka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Go.

Menchaka scores with a jab. Go acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Go throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

It looks like Menchaka has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Menchaka uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Go throws a looping overhand right but Menchaka ducks down to avoid it.
Go takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Menchaka is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Menchaka fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Go looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Go tried to score with a low kick but Menchaka checks it.
Menchaka clobbers Go with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Menchaka turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Menchaka stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Menchaka wants it to stay on the feet.

Go's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Menchaka connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Go scrambles back to his feet.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Go is defended easily by Menchaka.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Go might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Menchaka has got the better of the exchanges.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Menchaka lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Menchaka's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Menchaka duly obliges.
Go takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Menchaka scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Go doesn't seem bothered though.

Menchaka does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Menchaka leaves Go with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
