Gonzales closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mayweather Jr quickly recovers to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gonzales jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mayweather Jr manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Gonzales goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mayweather Jr has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gonzales but great work by Mayweather Jr.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You can see the frustration on Gonzales's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gonzales gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mayweather Jr fails to land the takedown.

Gonzales postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gonzales drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gonzales jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gonzales drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gonzales as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Mayweather Jr screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gonzales! Nice submission victory there!
