The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams clinches up with Patterson and pushes him back against the cage.

Adams breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Adams lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Patterson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Adams counters with a straight right hand.
Patterson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Patterson is looking to clinch.

Adams tries to sprawl but Patterson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Adams wants to improve his position but Patterson is controlling well.
Patterson not doing much here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patterson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Patterson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Aaron Patterson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Adams keeps the fight on the outside.

Patterson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Adams to the mat! Adams manages to get full guard.
Adams is trying to keep Patterson in close.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Adams is on top in guard.

Patterson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Adams has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Patterson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Adams is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Patterson pulls down on the head and he's put Adams to sleep! This one is all over!
