Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Conway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Franklin's Theme Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jimmy Conway! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Franklin Jackson! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Conway manages to avoid it. Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Conway moves out of range of the leg kick from Jackson. Conway closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away. Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Conway moves out of range easily. Jackson throws a front kick aimed at Conway's knee but Conway avoids it well. Conway uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jackson. Jackson throws a jab but it's blocked by Conway. Jackson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Conway moves away. Conway takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Jackson swinging wilding here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Conway takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Jackson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A telegraphed right hand from Jackson misses the target. Jackson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Conway. Conway throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Conway off to one side. Jackson wants to clinch. Franklin Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Conway fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Conway. That's going to take a lot out of him. Conway uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jackson. Jackson takes a swing at Conway's ribcage but misses.

Jackson throws a right and a left that both miss. Jackson takes a swing at Conway's ribcage but misses. Conway bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jackson is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Jackson throws a head kick but Conway moves out of range.

Conway misses with a takedown attempt - Jackson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Franklin Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson keeps the fight on the outside. Conway looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Conway is breathing heavily. Jackson throws a nice inside leg kick. Jackson moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Conway shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Conway has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jackson keeps Conway under control for a moment. Conway is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jackson has escaped the position, nice work there. Jackson regains half guard.

Franklin Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Conway shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Conway fails with a takedown attempt. Jackson wants to clinch but Conway slips to the side and Conway counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackson! Poor strikes thrown by Conway there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Jackson is pressing down on Conway's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Conway is looking to stand up but Jackson won't let him. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

No luck so far. Conway keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. Jackson looking to pass the guard. Conway has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Conway is looking to sweep but instead, Jackson has passed into half guard.

Conway tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control. Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Conway does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Conway wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Conway is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jackson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Jackson lands with a slapping head kick. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jackson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Conway has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Conway and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Jackson throws a jab but it's blocked by Conway. Jackson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Decent striking displayed by Jackson there. Jimmy Conway is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jackson looks to land a combination. Conway sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Conway tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Conway closes the distance and clinches. Jackson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Conway fails to pull the fight into his guard.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Jackson wants to stand up but Conway is controlling him.

and Conway counters with a nice double leg into guard. Conway trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Conway stands up from Jackson's guard - Conway perhaps looking for a knockout. The fight is ruled a draw! Jimmy Conway retains his title. It's always disappointing when a championship fight ends as a draw but that's what happens when you leave the fight in the judges hands!
