Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waleed Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ford comes to the cage accompanied by For What It's Worth. The crowd seem to be enjoying Malik's choice of entrance music: Can't Be Touched. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Waleed Malik! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malik tries to close the distance and clinch but Ford swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Malik closes the distance but Ford moves to the side and Ford counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Ford stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. We've been told by Ford's head coaches at Broken Halo Combat Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Ford tries to clinch up. Malik tries to clinch but Ford moves out of range. Ford circles away from the clinch attempt.

That could mean trouble for Malik! Malik is not content to let Ford control the position. Ford tries to advance to mount but Malik denies him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Malik can do anything to dispel that myth.

He has the arm isolated but Malik is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Malik avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ford. Ford tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Ford throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malik is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ford is controlling him well. Malik takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Malik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ford. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Malik is not content to let Ford control the position. Ford landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ford is looking to take a break and control but Malik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ford has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Malik takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ford tries to advance to mount but can't. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ford in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Malik is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
