Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evandro Santos!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Laruus shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Laruus showed some decent athleticism there.
Santos actively working from the bottom here.
Santos looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Santos kicks off Laruus and gets to his feet.
Santos misses with a takedown attempt - Laruus sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Laruus misses with a body shot.
Santos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Laruus is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Santos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Laruus is fending him off so far but Santos persists. Nope, Laruus circles away and we're back to standing.
Jason Laruus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evandro Santos.
Laruus fails to land the takedown.

Laruus doesn't succeed with the takedown
so Santos counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Santos thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Santos stands up from Laruus's guard - Santos perhaps looking for a knockout.
Laruus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Santos shoots in for a double leg but Laruus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Santos checks a leg kick nicely.

Laruus tries to close the distance and clinch but Santos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Santos moves out of range of the body kick from Laruus.
Santos leaves Laruus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Laruus shoots in but Santos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Laruus tries to clinch up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Laruus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Santos decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Laruus, up you get!

Laruus has his takedown stuffed
and Santos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Laruus is breathing heavily.
Santos thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Santos drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Santos seems to have locked his on tight now - Laruus screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Santos, as he picks up the win!
