Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Game Time Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorda Splash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes into the arena with Smooth Operator blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Game Time Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jorda Splash! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Splash. Splash connects with a right hand. Jones shakes it off.
It looks like Game Time Jones has been cut. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Splash. Splash scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Splash moves into the clinch. Jones has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Splash is trying to keep an underhook but Jones manages to get the takedown into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Splash with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Jones thows a huge punch but Splash dodges it nicely.
Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Splash's head. Splash controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Splash is trying to stand back up but Jones is controlling him
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Splash keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Splash can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones prevents Splash from improving his position. Jones scoring with strikes to the body and head. Jones wants to pass the guard but Splash is defending well. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Splash keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones is striking off his back. Splash thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Splash really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jones trying to control here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones gets back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Splash throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Splash forces Jones back against the cage and clinches. Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Splash prevents it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Splash wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Splash is keeping the position for now.

Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones is in close to Splash's body, working some short punches and elbows. Jones stands up over Splash, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jones scoring with some ground and pound. Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Splash wants to sweep but no luck.

Jones throws a strike but Splash rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Jones wants to control the position but Splash says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. We've been informed that Splash has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

No chance. Splash wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position. Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Splash lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Jorda Splash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Splash lands a leg kick that knocks Jones off balance momentarily. Nice body punch from Splash. Splash throws a front kick that sends Jones stumbling back into the cage. Splash closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.

Jorda Splash has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jorda Splash is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Splash can pounce on him.
Splash lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Game Time Jones's cut is getting worse. Splash lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Splash scores with a jab to the body. Splash swinging wildly here.
Jones shoots in but Splash avoids the takedown attempt easily. Splash tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Splash fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Jones to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Jones looks to clinch but Splash throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Jones taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
