24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leonard Washington! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A thudding body kick lands there by Hearts!
A big right from Washington misses. A right-left combo lands from Hearts. Hearts misses the shot to the body. Hearts shoots in but Washington avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hearts bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Washington's head. Washington throws a series of punches but Hearts avoids them all with ease. Hearts tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Washington swivels and escapes. Washington takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Washington looks to score with a jab to the body but Hearts is just out of range. Washington scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Washington is keen to just control but Hearts is a slippery customer. Washington throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Hearts is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Washington scores with a couple of nice shots. Hearts slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Washington pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hearts is keeping the position for now. Hearts wants to sweep here but Washington controlling him for the moment. Hearts is pulling down on Washington's head to control his posture. Washington works a leg free and moves into half guard. Washington wants to control but Hearts is keeping him busy. Hearts trying to control from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Washington with the ground and pound but Hearts uses the opportunity to regain guard. Washington pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hearts is keeping the position for now. Washington being controlled here momentarily. Hearts utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hearts looking for a sweep. Not yet Hearts, not yet. Washington stands up over Hearts, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The crowd are loving this. That's three minutes gone in the round. Washington throws an elbow that misses. Hearts uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Washington's guard. Nice move by Hearts! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hearts preventing the sweep. Washington is trying to control the position but Hearts postures up. Washington has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hearts has passed into side control.
Washington has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Washington is looking to regain half guard here but Hearts keeps moving and retains side control. Hearts works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Washington gets back to half guard. Hearts landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Washington wants to get back to full guard but Hearts has passed into side control. Hearts wants to control but Washington is keeping him busy. Hearts gets to mount! Washington was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Hearts lands a heavy elbow. Hearts landing punches.
It looks like Leonard Washington has been cut. Hearts has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Washington's face.
Washington is rocked! Hearts cracks Washington with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
