Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zielony Gibon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paddy Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zielony Gibon!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper shoots in but no luck this time.
Gibon swings for the body but Cooper moves out of range.
Gibon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Cooper can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gibon controls the pace.
Gibon trying to control the position from guard on top but Cooper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gibon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cooper haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Cooper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gibon is aware though and is defending well.
Cooper throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gibon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gibon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cooper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Zielony Gibon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cooper dodges the punch combination from Gibon.
Cooper takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Gibon closes the distance and clinches.
Gibon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cooper moves into range and clinches up with Gibon.
Gibon is trying to break the clinch but Cooper has him pressed against the cage.

Gibon has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Cooper is trying to keep an underhook but Gibon manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Gibon is thwarting Cooper's attempts to control the position.

Cooper looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gibon has picked Cooper up and slammed him! Cooper can't keep hold of the triangle and Gibon manages to pass to side control!
Cooper tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gibon is trying to stick to Cooper's back but Cooper is turning into Gibon. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gibon's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cooper.
Cooper lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Cooper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gibon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gibon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gibon is trying to control. Cooper wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Cooper is trying to maintain the position but Gibon is very close to passing his half guard.
Cooper is looking for a sweep. Gibon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gibon is looking to take a break and control but Cooper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gibon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cooper is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gibon pulls his head out easily.

Gibon wants to free his trapped foot but Cooper is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gibon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cooper sees it coming and defends easily.

Zielony Gibon dominated that round.
That's time! Cooper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gibon cracks a nice hook into Cooper's ribs.
Gibon has Cooper up against the cage in a clinch.

Gibon misses with a knee strike.
Cooper changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gibon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cooper shoots in for a takedown but Gibon shows good takedown defense.
Gibon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gibon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Cooper is trying to control Gibon's posture but Gibon avoids it.
Cooper gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gibon tries to stand and escape but Cooper actually recovers to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cooper looking for submissions off his back.

Cooper is pressing down on Gibon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Gibon keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cooper looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Cooper has control of Gibon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gibon regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gibon is desperately trying to improve his position but Cooper has a good base and remains in mount.
Cooper moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Gibon has worked his arm free - good work by Gibon!

Cooper takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Cooper is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gibon has managed to free his arm - good work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gibon controlling the position well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gibon has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Cooper is on him like a limpet, forcing Gibon back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Paddy Cooper will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Paddy Cooper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cooper lands a nice short elbow.

Gibon wants to control but Cooper is keeping busy.

Gibon gets back to full guard.
Cooper wants to control from the top but Gibon keeps moving.
Cooper drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Cooper seems to have locked his on tight now - Gibon screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Cooper, as he picks up the win!
