Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Diego Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Sullivan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Diego Salazar!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salazar dodges the punch combination from Sullivan.
Sullivan scores with a shot to the body.
Sullivan misses with a straight right.
Salazar takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Sullivan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sullivan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sullivan tries to clinch up.
Salazar stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sullivan.
Salazar looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Salazar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sullivan defends it nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sullivan stuffs the takedown attempt from Salazar. Salazar gets slowly back to his feet.
Salazar misses with a head kick.
Salazar takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sullivan is looking to break free of the clinch but Salazar has double underhooks.
Salazar can't break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sullivan blocks an elbow strike.

Sullivan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Salazar fails with the takedown.
George Sullivan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Diego Salazar.
Sullivan getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Salazar darts in and clinches Sullivan up against the cage.
Sullivan lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Sullivan tries to break the clinch but Salazar is controlling the position.

Sullivan breaks the clinch.
Salazar takes one to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sullivan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sullivan has had enough of the clinch but Salazar keeps him there for the moment.
Sullivan can't break the clinch.
Sullivan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Sullivan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Salazar throws a head kick that misses.
Sullivan changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Sullivan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Juan Diego Salazar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Salazar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sullivan is fending him off so far but Salazar persists. Nope, Sullivan circles away and we're back to standing.
Salazar looks winded!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sullivan lands a jab to the nose.
Salazar tries for a takedown but Sullivan circles away easily
and Sullivan counters with a right hand to the body.

Sullivan forces Salazar back against the cage and clinches.

Sullivan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Salazar is trying desperately to land a takedown but Sullivan is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Salazar.
Sullivan lands a hook that stumbles Salazar back into the cage. Sullivan follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Salazar to the canvas! Sullivan pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Salazar has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). George Sullivan!
During a confident post fight interview, George Sullivan thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
