Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Doan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Richards!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doan throws a head kick but Richards moves out of range.
Richards tries to bum rush Doan with a series of wild strikes but Doan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Richards has managed to clinch.
Doan throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Richardss head.
A short body shot lands from Doan as the two fighters clinch.
Richards gets through Doan's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Richards avoiding damage as Doan throws knees to the body.

Doan lands a right hand.
Doan gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Richards fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Doan sprawls well initially but Richards persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Well, if Richards is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.

Doan is controlling Richards's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Doan is looking to improve his position.
Doan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Richards is working away from the top position though.
Richards looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Doan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Doan moves into full guard.
Doan is trying to control the position but Richards postures up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Richards takes a decent strike to the side of the head.

Richards is looking to stand up but Doan won't let him.
Doan has Richards pulled in close to control his posture.
Doan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Richards gets to his feet - Doan follows without any prompting.
Doan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Richards fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Doan, pushing him back against the cage.
Richards is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Doan pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Doan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

James Doan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Richards.
Doan tries a knee to the head but Richards blocks it.

Doan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Doan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richards swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Doan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Richards's waist but Richards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Doan off to one side.

That was a close round but I would say that James Doan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Doan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Doan lands a body punch in the clinch.
Doan jumps guard and drags Richards to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Doan wants to sweep but no luck.
Richards won't allow Doan to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Doan has hold of Richards's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Richards manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Richards swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Richards is squirming around, avoiding Doan's attempts to control the action.
Richards is desperately trying to improve his position but Doan has a good base and remains in mount.
Doan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Richards's face.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Richards counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Doan shoots in and bounces Richards off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Doan is on top in guard.

Doan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Richards bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Doan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Richards's guard.

Richards wants to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Doan.
Richards throws a body punch but Doan moves out of range.

and Richards counters with a nice double leg into side control. Doan won't be happy with that.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Scott Richards.
I think Doan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
