Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machiko pushes Sakuraba up against the cage in a clinch.

Sakuraba is trying to pull guard but Machiko has him pressed against the cage.
Machiko lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Sakuraba.
A nice right hand lands inside from Machiko.

Machiko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sakuraba looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've been hearing good reports from Sakuraba's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Machiko cracks Sakuraba with a right hand to the side of the head.
Machiko throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sakuraba throws a lazy uppercut
and Machiko counters with a thumping low kick.
Machi Machiko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sakuraba tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Machiko swivels and escapes.
Machiko lands a nice looking body shot.
Kazushi Sakuraba is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sakuraba on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Machiko tries to clinch up.
Machiko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Machiko connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sakuraba enables Machiko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sakuraba manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sakuraba is rocked!

Machiko is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Oh Sakuraba is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Machiko working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sakuraba's head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Machiko's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Machiko makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Machiko loads up on a big left hand. Sakuraba felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Machiko looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Sakuraba can't hide his disappointment, as Machiko celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Machi Machiko!
