The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dalit cracks Takaku with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Dalit. The fight moves into the clinch position. Takaku swings wildly with an uppercut but Dalit uses good head movement to avoid it. Dalit leaning his opponent against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Dalit. Takaku working aggressively here.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Dalit blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Takaku swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Dalit lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Dalit dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Dalit seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dalit scores with a nice hook to the head. Dalit is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Dexter Dalit. Takaku tries to move into range but Dalit moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Dalit fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Takaku fails to land the takedown. Dalit lands a head shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Takaku looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dalit is fending him off so far but Takaku persists. Nope, Dalit circles away and we're back to standing. We've been told by Dalit's head coaches at The Pit that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Dalit throws a series of punches but Takaku moves out of range. Dalit rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takaku moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Takaku uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dalit. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Takaku is defended easily by Dalit. Dexter Dalit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daisuke Takaku. Takaku slips a jab from Dalit. Takaku takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dalit cracks Takaku on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Takaku falls backwards against the cage. Dalit follows up with more strikes that drop Takaku to his knees. Dalit keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Takaku! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dexter Dalit! Dexter Dalit retains his lightweight title! A less than humble Dexter Dalit misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
