Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Haroldo Gnomo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lester Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lester Murphy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Haroldo Gnomo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lester Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Murphy lands an elbow inside that Gnomo shrugs off.
Murphy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gnomo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Murphy cracks Gnomo with a right hand to the side of the head.
Gnomo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murphy tries to avoid it but Gnomo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murphy to the ground. Murphy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gnomo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Haroldo Gnomo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gnomo shoots in but Murphy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gnomo throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Gnomo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Gnomo is breathing heavily.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Murphy.
Gnomo misses with the combination.
Murphy lands a with a good body shot.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Murphy breaks from the clinch.
Gnomo tries to bum rush Murphy with a series of wild strikes but Murphy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gnomo tries to clinch
and Murphy counters with a left and a right that stings Gnomo.
Murphy slips a jab and a cross from Gnomo.
Gnomo shoots and misses
and Murphy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gnomo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Murphy manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Murphy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Murphy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gnomo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Murphy is tightening it up a little... Gnomo has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gnomo reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gnomo taps out! nice BJJ there by Murphy!
