PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atis Visnevskis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dias comes into the arena with Tem Que Ter Pegada blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Atis Visnevskis!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dias works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Sloppy strikes from Visnevskis. Those never looked like landing.
Visnevskis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Dias tests Visnevskis's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A slow jab from Dias misses its intended target.
Dias misses with a looping right.

Visnevskis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dias, pushing him back against the cage.
Dias jumps guard but Visnevskis stands there with Dias around his waist. Dias gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Visnevskis effectively controlling the action here.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Visnevskis.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Visnevskis stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Visnevskis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Visnevskis avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Visnevskis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dias on his heels. He'll look to pass Dias's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Visnevskis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Visnevskis connects with a nice short shot to Dias's temple.


Dias is rocked!
Visnevskis lands a big elbow - Dias is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Visnevskis!
