Cyr is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Frog Song. Fidel Bautista could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Cyprien Noe Cyr's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cyprien Noe Cyr!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bautista misses with a low kick as Cyr jumps back.
Bautista has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cyr.
Cyr moves away from the strike by Bautista.

Bautista takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cyr has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bautista is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Cyr tries to land a front kick but Bautista steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cyr lands with a kick to the temple. Bautista shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Fidel Bautista has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cyr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bautista throws out the jab.
Cyr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Bautista counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cyr thinking.

Cyr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bautista.
Bautista keeps the fight on the outside.
Cyr tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bautista manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Cyr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bautista napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cyr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bautista keeps working.

Cyr thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bautista can't do much from the bottom here.
Bautista is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Bautista tries to buck Cyr off but Cyr is having none of it.

Cyr misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Cyr is stalling here. Bautista is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cyr seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bautista has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

You can see the frustration on Cyr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Nice combo by Cyr! Oh, that's hurt him - Bautista falls to the canvas and Cyr follows him into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cyr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cyr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cyr is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bautista is trying to escape and Cyr transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bautista is forced to tap! Nice work there by Cyr! Very nice indeed!

A relieved looking Cyprien Noe Cyr thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
