Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Droski De La Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fredrick Altright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Fredrick Altright enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Droski De La Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fredrick Altright!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Cruz stuffs the takedown attempt from Altright. Altright gets slowly back to his feet.
Altright fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Altright clinches up against the cage.
Altright creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through De La Cruz's defenses.
Altright looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
De La Cruz tries to pull guard but Altright holds him up against the cage and eventually De La Cruz drops back down to his feet.
Altright lands a good knee to the midsection. De La Cruz won't want to take too many of those.
Altright stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Altright gets underhooks to prevent De La Cruz's takedown attempt.

Altright breaks from the clinch.
Altright scores with a head kick. De La Cruz tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

De La Cruz tries to keep at a distance but Altright has taken the fight into the clinch.
De La Cruz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Altright is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from De La Cruz enables Altright to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. De La Cruz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Altright wants to control from the top but De La Cruz keeps moving.

Altright is looking to pass into half guard but De La Cruz pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now De La Cruz is in guard.

Altright has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De La Cruz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

De La Cruz is nestled in close to Altright, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
De La Cruz is keen to just control but Altright is a slippery customer.

No joy there for Altright, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Altright closes the distance and clinches up with De La Cruz, looking for a takedown. Altright pushes De La Cruz against the cage but De La Cruz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
De La Cruz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Altright.
Altright throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Altright fails to land the takedown.
Altright connects with a high kick.
De La Cruz swings away with a leg kick that misses.
De La Cruz darts in looking for a takedown but Altright gets double underhooks and turns De La Cruz into the cage.

De La Cruz tries to circle away but Altright has him pinned against the cage.

Fredrick Altright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


De La Cruz throws a head kick that half lands.

Altright closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. De La Cruz quickly recovers to half guard.
De La Cruz is refusing to be controlled, as Altright sits in half guard.
De La Cruz moves into full guard.
Altright stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De La Cruz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
De La Cruz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Altright tries to get to full guard but De La Cruz has control of the leg.

De La Cruz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Altright with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Altright is looking to escape.

De La Cruz slips a nice elbow through Altright's hands, connecting with Altright's forehead.
Altright wants to get back to his feet.

De La Cruz seems to be working for a kimura but Altright defends the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Altright can do anything to dispel that myth.

Altright tries to kick De La Cruz off but De La Cruz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
De La Cruz is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Altright!

We've been hearing that De La Cruz has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De La Cruz has hold of Altright's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Altright manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

De La Cruz wants to finish this one by submission but Altright is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from De La Cruz.
Droski De La Cruz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Altright can't escape the position.
