Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Victor Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Gites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Don't You Give Your Love Away . Gites has chosen Eminem - Above The Law as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Gites! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gites shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gites was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Brown struggling a bit here. Brown is trying to get back to half guard. Gites throws a strike aimed at the side of Brown's head but Brown avoids it well. Gites has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Brown! Brown avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gites.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gites thowing shots but they're missing. Gites putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Gites pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Gites has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gites looking to ground and pound but Brown is blocking nicely. Gites pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Gites trying to control but Brown is having none of it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gites looking to secure an arm triangle but Brown defends it well. Gites throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gites looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Gites throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Brown looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gites cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Brown tries to lock up and control but Gites gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gites in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Brown tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gites trying to control but Brown is having none of it. Gites misses with a head shot. Gites working for a submission but Brown is keeping him at bay. Brown is squirming around, avoiding Gites's attempts to control the action. Brown sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gites is looking to take a break and control but Brown is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Brown avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gites. Gites wants to pass the guard but Brown is defending well. Brown blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gites. Gites is pressing down on Brown's thigh, looking to free his foot. Brown is holding on for now. Gites is looking for a kimura but Brown is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gites to get the leverage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Brown controlling the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Gites dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gites shoots and misses and Brown counters with a nice uppercut. Decent striking displayed by Brown there. Gites walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Gites slips a jab and a cross from Brown.
Brown walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Brown looks to land a right hand but Gites moved out of range. John Gites is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brown punishes Gites's body with a nice straight punch. Gites dives in and grabs Brown's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes down on Gites's head and hops out. Gites throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gites off to one side. Victor Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Gites. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brown gets in close and instigates a clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Brown.
Gites is rocked! Brown is pushing Gites up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Gites is still on wobbly legs! Can Brown finish him? Good body shot from Brown.

Brown seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. A short body shot lands from Brown as the two fighters clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brown pushes Gites back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Brown content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Brown dips a shoulder and cracks Gites with a mighty uppercut! Gites falls back against the cage and Brown unloads with a barrage of strikes! Gites is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Brown screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Victor Brown! A relieved looking Victor Brown thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. In defeat, John Gites stepped up to the mic, saying 'Well the better man won today and he earned the win. I'll take some time off to heal and learn from this loss and come back stronger. You haven't seen the last of me yet. Shout to my fans and keep supporting your boy. Cheers'.
