Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Meguru Takayanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Django Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown has chosen System Of A Down - Chop Suey! as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Django Brown enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Meguru Takayanagi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Django Brown! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown throws a sloppy head kick and Takayanagi moves out of range easily. A slow jab from Takayanagi misses its intended target. Takayanagi throws a jab but it's blocked by Brown. Takayanagi lands with a good body shot. We've been hearing reports that Takayanagi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Brown throws a push kick but Takayanagi slaps the foot to one side. Brown throws a low kick but Takayanagi moves out of range easily. Meguru Takayanagi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brown misses with a head kick.
Takayanagi tries to clinch there but Brown circles away.
Takayanagi checks a low kick from Brown. Brown tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Takayanagi defends well and Brown ends up having to push Takayanagi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Takayanagi slowing the pace effectively. Takayanagi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Takayanagi misses with a hook to the ribs.

That's one minute gone in the round. Takayanagi prevents a body shot from Brown. Takayanagi goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Brown tries to score a body lock takedown but Takayanagi shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Come on Takayanagi - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Takayanagi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Brown decides to pull guard. Takayanagi is pushing down on Brown's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brown is fighting to maintain full guard but Takayanagi has managed to sneak the leg through. Brown has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Takayanagi is working away from the top position though. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Brown is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Takayanagi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Takayanagi's back! Brown struggling to keep hold of the position.
Well, with Brown on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Takayanagi is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown throwing sloppy strikes. Brown is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Takayanagi is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Takayanagi rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Brown with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Brown wants to take a breather but Takayanagi is having none of it. Takayanagi wants to control but Brown passes into side.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Brown are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Sloppy strikes there by Brown. Brown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Takayanagi avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Brown. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Takayanagi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brown wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Takayanagi struggling a bit here. An elbow from Brown crashes against the mat.
Brown postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Brown wants to control but Takayanagi is keeping him busy. Brown tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brown has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown is looking to take a break and control but Takayanagi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takayanagi is looking for a sweep. Brown working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Takayanagi is trying to escape the position but Brown is controlling the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Takayanagi managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Brown.
Brown looks up at the clock and then as Takayanagi takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brown smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Takayanagi tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Brown presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Takayanagi tries to hold on but Brown pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Django Brown dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Brown thumps Takayanagi with a low kick. Brown misses with a kick to the body.
Brown dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Takayanagi. That did some damage! Brown connects with an inside leg kick. Brown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takayanagi as he avoids it easily. Brown connects with a single shot there. Takayanagi listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Nice defenses there by Brown. Takayanagi walks into a straight right hand from Brown. Takayanagi looks to score with a jab to the body but Brown is just out of range. Takayanagi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brown manages to avoid it. Takayanagi doesn't manage to clinch there - Brown circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Takayanagi checks a leg kick. Takayanagi misses the shot to the body. Brown thuds his shin into the meat of Takayanagi's side. Takayanagi misses with a straight left. Takayanagi connects with a looping right hand.
A nice inside leg kick there by Brown. That's going to slow Takayanagi down. Takayanagi catches Brown with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Brown misses with a body kick. Takayanagi misses the jab. Takayanagi doesn't manage to clinch there - Brown circles away.
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takayanagi as he avoids it easily. Takayanagi throws a hook but Brown avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takayanagi. Brown misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Meguru Takayanagi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Takayanagi avoids the head kick by Brown.
Brown feints and as Takayanagi raises his hands in defense, Brown changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brown throwing strikes from guard but Takayanagi blocks nicely. Takayanagi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brown defends it easily. Brown trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Brown lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Takayanagi has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown lands a couple of elbows. Brown is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Takayanagi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Takayanagi has escaped and now he's on top! Brown looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Takayanagi tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard. Django Brown has got the better of the ground game so far. Brown throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Takayanagi is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Brown has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Takayanagi is looking to defend but Brown has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Takayanagi! Brown pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Takayanagi taps out and this one is all over!
