Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mos Def (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Def comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mathematics kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mos Def! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Def is looking to slow King down with leg kicks. Def drives through and clinches with King against the cage.
Def has King pressed against the cage, preventing King from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Def leaning against his opponent.
Def is trying to pull guard but King turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Def putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has King in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Def leaning against his opponent.
Def keeps control of King as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. King wants to break the clinch but can't.
King on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
King wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Def with a knee to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action! Def lands a nice knee to the body. Def is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Def putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has King in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Def manages to pull guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. King is fighting to break Def's control of his arms but Def is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. King tries to stand but Def is controlling from the bottom. Def trying to control the position here.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mos Def hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Def rushes King and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Def unloads a knee to the mid-section. Def lands a takedown into guard.
Def scores with a decent looking elbow strike. King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Def is controlling him. Def is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Def has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Def sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed King's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Def is trying to control. King wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Def has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can King defend it? Def steps over the head and cranks it - King is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Def!
