Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randal Cooter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Clyde Dixon! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooter is looking to chop away at Dixon's legs. Cooter throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Cooter avoids the body shot from Dixon.
Dixon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Cooter looks to land a left hand but Dixon moved out of range nicely. Dixon tries to bum rush Cooter with a series of wild strikes but Cooter uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cooter looks to land a left hand but Dixon moved out of range nicely. Dixon takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Dixon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cooter sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've been informed that Dixon has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
That's one minute gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dixon checks a leg kick. Cooter tries to clinch up. Cooter throws a leg kick but Dixon sees it coming and checks it nicely. Cooter lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Cooter tries to clinch but Dixon is having none of it. Cooter tries to clinch up. Cooter misses with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooter tries a low kick but Dixon avoids it. We've been told by Cooter's head coaches at Darwinism that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Cooter throws a front kick aimed at Dixon's knee but Dixon avoids it well. Cooter does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Dixon moves out of range as Cooter strikes. Cooter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cooter throws a low kick but Dixon moves out of range easily. Cooter motions for Dixon to come forward. Cooter throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooter throws out a leg kick but Dixon moves out of range and Cooter only half commits. Cooter does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Cooter throws an off balance right hand
and Dixon counters with a nice body shot. Cooter will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Dixon swats away the attempt to clinch by Cooter. Dixon sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooter lands with a hook. Dixon tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. A leg kick checked by Dixon. Cooter throws a right hand that misses
and Dixon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Cooter moves into the clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Cooter. This has been an exciting period of action! Dixon misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dixon lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Cooter lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Cooter scores with a nice hook to the head. Dixon can't find room to land a body shot as Cooter controls the action.
Dixon has a couple of punches blocked by Cooter.

Cooter throws a leg kick but Dixon sees it coming and moves out of range. A solid leg kick lands there for Cooter.

Dixon blocks a jab. Cooter tried to score with a low kick but Dixon checks it. The fighters circling - Cooter throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Cooter moves to clinch but Dixon breaks away and Dixon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dixon ducks under a wild hook from Cooter. Dixon walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Dixon chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cooter can pounce on him.
The fighters circling - Cooter throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Cooter feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dixon's calf. Cooter throws a leg kick but Dixon moved away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cooter throws a poor cross that misses
and Dixon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cooter thinking.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooter connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Cooter misses with a few strikes there.
Cooter throws a hook but Dixon avoids it easily. A thudding body kick lands there by Cooter!
Cooter lets loose with a powerful body kick. Dixon will feel that in the morning. Cooter buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooter pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dixon is out of range and Cooter settles back down. Cooter misses with a kick to the body.
Cooter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cooter shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Dixon avoids a low kick by using good footwork. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cooter throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Randal Cooter dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Cooter misses with a looping left. Cooter tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Cooter has closed the distance and engaged Dixon in a clinch.
Nice body punch from Cooter. Cooter stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Dixon swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Nice body punch from Dixon. Dixon prevents a body shot from Cooter. Cooter prevents a body shot from Dixon. Cooter with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Cooter has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dixon takes an elbow to the temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooter gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dixon regains guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cooter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cooter controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Dixon wants to get back to his feet but Cooter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dixon slips a straight right by Cooter. Cooter throws a low kick but Dixon moves out of range easily.

Randal Cooter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cooter is looking to clinch. Dixon walks into a left hand. Cooter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dixon can do to turn this around? A leg kick checked by Dixon. Cooter throws a leg kick but Dixon sees it coming and checks it nicely. Cooter throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooter fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Dixon is out of range. A chopping leg kick lands by Cooter. Cooter wants to slow Dixon down by chopping away at his legs. Dixon fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Cooter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dixon. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dixon moves out of range of the leg kick from Cooter. Cooter forces Dixon back against the cage and clinches.
And that's the end of the fight! Randal Cooter showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cooter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
