Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riel Adalin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Rye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Riel Adalin!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adalin throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Rye stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Adalin follows into mount!
It looks like Sam Rye has been cut.
Rye is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rye could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Adalin avoids the attempt from Rye to control.
Rye keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Rye tries to hold on but Adalin pushes him away.
Rye can't escape the position.
Adalin controlling from mount.
Adalin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rye. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Adalin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rye is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Adalin wants to control the pace but Rye is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Despite being in the dominant position, Riel Adalin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Adalin tries to clinch up.
Adalin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Adalin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Adalin pulls guard successfully.
Rye stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Adalin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Riel Adalin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sam Rye's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Adalin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Riel Adalin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rye showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Adalin.
Sam Rye is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Adalin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rye is fighting off a takedown attempt but Adalin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rye to the mat. Rye regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Adalin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Rye is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Adalin tries to free his leg and advance position but Rye is retaining full guard.
Rye keeping moving, preventing Adalin from controlling successfully.

Adalin wants to control from the top but Rye keeps moving.
Adalin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rye is keeping the position for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rye uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Adalin.
Adalin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Adalin moves into the clinch successfully.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Adalin breaks the clinch.
No luck for Rye with that takedown attempt.
Adalin throws a body punch but Rye moves out of range.

Adalin throws a right and a left that Rye avoids nicely.
Rye shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Adalin pinned against the cage. Adalin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rye keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Adalin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Rye shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rye has a takedown stuffed.
Rye shoots in for a double leg but Adalin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Adalin clinches up with Rye and pushes him back against the cage.
Adalin breaks from the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rye.
Adalin wants to control but Rye postures up.
Rye tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rye has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rye is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Adalin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Adalin is looking to reverse the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rye has an Americana. Adalin didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rye is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rye hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
