Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eric Lawson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Perkovic! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Perkovic. That one must have hurt. Lawson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: Novae in the buildup to the fight. Lawson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Lawson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Perkovic takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Perkovic throws a sloppy head kick and Lawson moves out of range easily. Perkovic throws a push kick but Lawson slaps the foot to one side. Perkovic tries a head kick but it misses.
Perkovic moves into range and clinches up with Lawson. Perkovic breaks the clinch.
Mikhail Perkovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lawson lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Perkovic lands a nice looking body kick. Lawson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lawson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Perkovic looks to land a body kick but Lawson moved away. Perkovic drives through and clinches with Lawson against the ropes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perkovic has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lawson uses from the top position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Perkovic has his hands on Lawson's head, controlling the position. Lawson controls from within his opponent's guard. Lawson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Perkovic is not content to let Lawson control the position. Perkovic tries to roll over but Lawson keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lawson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Perkovic. Still in half guard, Lawson seems content to control. Perkovic is trying to maintain the position but Lawson is very close to passing his half guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Perkovic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lawson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lawson throws a series of punches but Perkovic avoids them all with ease. Perkovic throws a push kick but Lawson slaps the foot to one side. Perkovic throws a head kick that misses. Perkovic walks into a stiff left hand from Lawson. Perkovic fails with an attempt to clinch.
Perkovic goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lawson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perkovic throws a sloppy head kick and Lawson moves out of range easily. A head kick misses from Perkovic. Perkovic tries to clinch but Lawson is having none of it. Perkovic forces Lawson back against the ropes and clinches. Lawson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lawson lands a head shot. A jab from Perkovic does it's job there. A lazy body kick from Perkovic and Lawson counters with a big head kick but Perkovic shrugs it off. Lawson tries to bum rush Perkovic with a series of wild strikes but Perkovic uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A chopping leg kick lands by Perkovic. Lawson throws the left hand but Perkovic avoids the punch easily. Perkovic throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Eric Lawson has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lawson feints a jab promting Perkovic to slip. Lawson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Perkovic slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Perkovic throws a solid leg kick but Lawson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Perkovic. Perkovic throws a half hearted mid kick. Lawson blocks a head kick by Perkovic.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perkovic keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A head kick misses from Lawson. Perkovic doesn't manage to clinch there - Lawson circles away.
Perkovic throws a head kick that half lands.
Lawson throws a series of punches but Perkovic moves out of range. Perkovic delivers a nice body kick. Lawson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Perkovic goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Lawson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Perkovic doesn't manage to clinch there - Lawson circles away.
Perkovic throws the kick towards the body but Lawson avoids it. Good exchange - Lawson coming out on top. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lawson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Perkovic can pounce on him.
A nice inside leg kick there by Perkovic. That's going to slow Lawson down. Lawson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A head kick misses from Lawson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mikhail Perkovic will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Eric Lawson's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Perkovic knocks Lawson to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Lawson is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Perkovic has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Oh Lawson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Perkovic cracks Lawson with a left hook right on the temple and Lawson goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Perkovic lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Lawson is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mikhail Perkovic! After winning the bout, Mikhail Perkovic thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
