Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gunnar Edvard! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tupic Inglebloop! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edvard misses with a double jab.
Edvard connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Edvard tries to bum rush Inglebloop with a series of wild strikes but Inglebloop uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Edvard cracks Inglebloop with an uppercut from hell and Inglebloop crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Edvard's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Inglebloop is rocked! Inglebloop looking to hit a scissor sweep but Edvard is one step ahead there. Inglebloop is still in real trouble! Can Edvard finish him? Inglebloop not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Inglebloop seems to have recovered his senses. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Inglebloop has eaten all the pies! Edvard trying to control the position from guard on top but Inglebloop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Inglebloop looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Inglebloop is looking for a triangle but Edvard pushes his legs off easily.
Inglebloop manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Edvard manages to get himself to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Inglebloop trying to control the position from guard on top but Edvard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Inglebloop postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Inglebloop is pushing down on Edvard's leg trying to pass to half guard. Edvard is fighting to maintain full guard but Inglebloop has managed to sneak the leg through. Inglebloop seems to be working for a kimura but Edvard defends the submission attempt. Edvard makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Edvard. Edvard is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Inglebloop tries to free his leg and advance position but Edvard is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Inglebloop slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Inglebloop looks gassed! Edvard is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Inglebloop tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Inglebloop is working to tighten is grip on Edvard's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Edvard has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Inglebloop is really squeezing tight and eventually Edvard passes out! Inglebloop breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
