Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Saffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome Bruny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saffy's entrance music is Still Unbroken. A fine choice. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Saffy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerome Bruny! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saffy jabs at Bruny's body. Saffy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bruny to the mat! Bruny manages to get full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Saffy is looking to stand up but Bruny won't let him. Saffy stands and throws Bruny's legs to the side, diving into side control. Bruny is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Bruny is looking to improve his position.
Bruny looking for submissions off his back. Saffy trying to mount his opponent but Bruny defends it. Bruny keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Saffy is trying to work for a kimura but Bruny is defending well.
Saffy trying to control the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruny wants to get back to full guard. Saffy content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Bruny is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Saffy pulls his head out easily. Saffy is looking to advance position but Bruny won't allow it. Bruny actively working from the bottom here. Bruny wants to get back to full guard but Saffy has mounted him! Saffy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bruny on the ground. Saffy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saffy trying to control but Bruny is having none of it. Saffy throws some wild stikes that Bruny manages to avoid easily.
Saffy controlling the pace for now. Bruny should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Saffy wants to control the pace but Bruny is squirming around nicely. Bruny tries to hold on but Saffy pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruny gets back to half guard. Bruny avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Saffy. Bruny is staying active underneath Saffy, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Saffy thows a huge punch but Bruny dodges it nicely.
Saffy is taking a breather. Bruny says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Bruny won't allow Saffy to pass to mount. Bruny slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Bruny is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Saffy is aware though and is defending well. Bruny trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bruny keeping moving, preventing Saffy from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bruny is on top in guard.
Bruny tries to free his leg and advance position but Saffy is retaining full guard. Bruny throwing strikes from guard but Saffy blocks nicely. Saffy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bruny trying to control but Saffy is working from the bottom. Saffy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bruny wants to control from the top but Saffy keeps moving. Bruny controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Josh Saffy will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Saffy. Saffy fails in his attempt to clinch. Saffy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bruny swings away with a body shot that misses
so Saffy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bruny has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Saffy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Saffy stopping the sweep attempt from Bruny. Saffy stands up from Bruny's guard - Saffy perhaps looking for a knockout. Saffy closes the distance looking to clinch and Bruny counters with a left to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saffy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Josh Saffy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bruny ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Saffy moves away. Saffy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Saffy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Saffy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bruny waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Saffy. Saffy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bruny as he jumps to the side. Bruny tries to keep at a distance but Saffy has taken the fight into the clinch. Bruny misses with a punch to the body.

Saffy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bruny walks away with a smile on his face. Saffy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Saffy closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A battle for position here, against the cage. Saffy tries for a takedown but Bruny manages to get underhooks.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bruny is staying active underneath Saffy, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bruny makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bruny. Bruny working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Saffy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Saffy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Saffy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bruny swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bruny seems keen to control Saffy's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruny has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Saffy doesn't defend quickly enough and Bruny has managed to lock this one up! Can Saffy escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bruny on a fantastic submission victory.
