Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Terell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leeroy Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terell comes to the cage accompanied by Let's Go-Lil Jon ft. Trick Daddy and Twista. Leeroy Russo has the eye of the tiger tonight.

24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leeroy Russo! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Terell misses with a looping left. We've been informed that Russo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. A swing and a miss from Terell. Russo throws a leg kick which misses Terell's front leg but catches the back leg as Terell tries to avoid it. Russo looks to score with a jab to the body but Terell is just out of range. Terell takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Terell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Russo.
We've been hearing reports that Terell has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Terell connects with a jab. Terell takes a shot right to the bread basket. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Terell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Russo misses with a head kick.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Terell's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Russo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Terell scrambles back to his feet. Russo throws a low kick, looking for Terell's leg but Terell calmly moves out of range. Terell throws a looping overhand right but Russo ducks down to avoid it. Leeroy Russo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Russo lands a high kick!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Terell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Terell throws a shot from downtown. Russo moves away and avoids it. Russo throws a sloppy head kick and Terell moves out of range easily. Russo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Russo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Terell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Russo misses with a double jab
and Terell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Terell looks to land a right hand but Russo moved out of range. Terell misses with an uppercut
and Russo moves into the clinch. Terell lands an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Terell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Russo just stands there and leans against the cage. A shot in the inside from Terell. Russo blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Terell lands with a left to the head. Russo is trying to break the clinch but Terell has him pressed against the cage. Terell jumps into guard, dragging Russo to the mat.
Russo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Terell is proving hard to escape from. Terell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Russo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Terell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Russo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Russo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Russo looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terell keeping moving, preventing Russo from controlling successfully. Russo advances position into side control! Terell gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Russo trying to pass the guard but Terell defending well. Russo is looking for a kimura here.

Terell wants to get back to full guard. Russo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Terell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Terell is trying to get back to full guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Russo wants to pass to mount but Terell is defending the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Russo prevents Terell from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leeroy Russo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mason Terell's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Russo misses the shot to the body. Terell scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Terell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Terell is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Russo misses with a leg kick and Terell counters with a stiff right hand. Terell misses with an uppercut. Russo is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Terell rather than just go for the knockout. Russo throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Terell's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Russo defending well as Terell loads up on a big left hand. Russo slips a straight right by Terell. A looping hook to the body misses from Russo. Terell does a little dance to reset his feet. Russo lands with a hook. Terell tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Russo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Terell throws out the jab. Terell jabs Russo right on the nose. Russo blinks but takes it well. Terell misses with a body shot.

Russo actively working from the bottom here. Terell is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Russo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Terell. Russo won't allow Terell to pass to mount. Russo is looking for a sweep. Terell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Terell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Russo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Russo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Terell pulls his head out easily. Terell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Russo keeps working.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Russo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Russo! Terell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Terell tries to get back to half guard but can't. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Terell manages to get back to half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Terell looking for submissions off his back. Russo tries to stand but can't do so whilst Terell controls his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Russo prevents Terell from improving his position. Terell is looking to control Russo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Terell avoid being mounted? Russo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Terell! Russo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Terell tries to reverse the position but Russo maintains control. Terell is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Russo working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Russo is trying to take his opponent's back.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mason Terell will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mason Terell's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Russo misses with a looping left. Terell chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Russo can pounce on him.

Terell walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Russo slips under a jab from Terell. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Russo takes a swing at Terell's ribcage but misses. Russo lands a leg kick that knocks Terell off balance momentarily. Russo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A clash of legs there as Terell blocks the low kick. A shot to the liver by Russo. Beautiful body shot. Russo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Russo throws the left hand but Terell avoids the punch easily. An inside leg kick lands from Russo. Russo lands a jab to the nose.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terell moves out of range of the leg kick from Russo. Russo tries a low kick but Terell avoids it. Terell pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Leeroy Russo seems to be getting the better of the standup. Terell misses with a few strikes there.

Russo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Terell trying to control the position from guard on top but Russo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Terell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Russo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Russo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Terell is aware though and is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terell is looking to work some ground and pound but Russo has wrist control. Russo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Terell defends well. Terell postures up and lands a big shot to Russo's brow. Terell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Terell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Terell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Russo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Terell throwing strikes but missing. Terell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Terell won't allow Russo to sweep him here. Terell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Russo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Terell has managed to get both his arms back between Russo's legs - danger averted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Terell slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Terell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Terell is working Russo over with some ground and pound from side control. Russo taking punishment in the form of punches.
