2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, NaKai Mariner! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Left hook, right uppercut from St Cote. St Cote tests Mariner's chin there with a solid looking shot. St Cote connects with a right hand. Mariner shakes it off. Mariner darts in looking for a takedown but St Cote gets double underhooks and turns Mariner into the cage. St Cote leaning against his opponent.
A short left from St Cote. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mariner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Mariner's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Mariner using the Thai plumb to throw knees but St Cote has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

A short left from St Cote. Mariner is trying to break free. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by St Cote. St Cote has Mariner pushed against the cage. St Cote makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. St Cote working hard to break the clinch. Mariner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. St Cote holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Mariner misses with a shot to the kidneys.
St Cote taking a breather. With the fighters clinched against the cage, St Cote creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Mariner breaks the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. St Cote missing with a left hand there. Mariner was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Mariner doesn't manage to clinch there - St Cote circles away.
Mariner tries to clinch but St Cote is having none of it. Mariner throws out a loose jab but St Cote uses good head movement to avoid it. St Cote scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. St Cote throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mariner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. St Cote throws a series of punches but Mariner avoids them all with ease. St Cote clinches up with Mariner and pushes him back against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by St Cote. Mariner tries a body shot but St Cote blocks it.
Mariner is looking to break free of the clinch but St Cote has double underhooks. St Cote stalling the fight.
Mariner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mariner slips under a jab from St Cote.
That's three minutes gone in the round. St Cote misses with a right hand enabling Mariner to counter with a crisp jab. St Cote scores with a hook. Mariner closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. The fighters circle momentarily. St Cote darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mariner is rocked! St Cote misses with a lunging right hand
and Mariner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mariner is still on wobbly legs! Can St Cote finish him? Mariner defending well as St Cote loads up on a big left hand. St Cote goes for a small jab and connects. Now St Cote goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Mariner stumbles back but St Cote runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Mariner to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Mariner will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Patrick St Cote! Patrick St Cote was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
