Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinnie Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vinnie Black! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Black misses with a takedown and Hughes counters with a nice double leg into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Ground and pound from Hughes. Hughes stops Black from getting back to his feet.
Hughes thows a huge punch but Black dodges it nicely.
Black kicks off Hughes and gets to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Black shoots in looking for a takedown. Hughes tries to sprawl out of it but Black keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hughes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Danga de danga de dang - Black scores with a four punch combination! Hughes takes a swing at Black's ribcage but misses. Black doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hughes counters with a nice double leg into side control. Black won't be happy with that. Mark Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinnie Black. Hughes tries to score with some ground and pound. Black controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hughes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Black to see if he's OK. Hughes in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hughes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Black is trying to control Hughes's posture but Hughes avoids it. Hughes cracks Black with an elbow. That is naaassty. Hughes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Black has escaped the position, nice work there. Black on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Hughes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Black on the ground. Hughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Black keeps working. Black felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Hughes prevents Black from escaping the position. Black tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hughes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes misses with the ground and pound. Black is letting Hughes control him for a moment. Black pushes Hughes away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hughes gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Hughes is trying to get an arm triangle but Black is defending well. Black takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! An elbow from Hughes crashes against the mat.
Hughes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Black knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Black is not content to let Hughes control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Hughes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Black with a lazy takedown attempt and Hughes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Black's guard now. Hughes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Black looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hughes trying to control the position from guard on top but Black is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Black wants to get back to his feet but Hughes is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hughes throws a big elbow that misses. Hughes preventing the sweep. Hughes is fighting to break Black's control of his arms but Black is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Black wants to sweep but no luck. Black is trying to control the position but Hughes postures up. Hughes wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Hughes wasn't doing enough on the ground. Hughes thows a left - swing and a miss! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Black shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Black slips a straight right by Hughes. No luck for Hughes with that takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Hughes dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Black looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hughes! Hughes wants to get back to his feet but Black drags him back down. Hughes is trying to work for a sweep but Black has mounted him! Hughes holds of for dear life. Hughes is desperately trying to improve his position but Black has a good base and remains in mount. Black goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hughes is on top in guard.
Black looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hughes is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes sitting in guard, not really doing much. Black uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hughes tries to clinch up. Hughes is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Black fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hughes moves in looking to clinch but Black pushes him off. Hughes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Black pinned against the cage. Black gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hughes just misses with a punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black stuffs the takedown attempt from Hughes. Hughes gets slowly back to his feet. Hughes wants to clinch up but Black keeps it at a distance. Black shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hughes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Black. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Black is defended easily by Hughes. Mark Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinnie Black. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hughes. Black is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hughes prevents Black from escaping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes cracks Black with a big right hand but Black just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hughes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Black, who protects the arm well. Hughes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hughes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Hughes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Black is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hughes misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Black throws Hughes to one side and escapes! Black fails in his attempt to clinch. Black clinches. Black is looking for a takedown. Black wants to break the clinch but can't.
Black wants a takedown but no success here.

Hughes wants to take the fight to the mat but Black manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Hughes looking for a takedown. Black stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hughes is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Black pulls him back up using the underhooks. Black manages to break the clinch.
Black is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Hughes will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Hughes keeps the fight on the outside. Hughes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Black manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. No luck for Black with that takedown attempt. Hughes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Black taking some punishment here, with Hughes in his half guard. Hughes lands with a punch from half guard. Hughes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hughes seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice strikes from Hughes there. Hughes trying to control from half guard but Black is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hughes lands a nice short elbow. Hughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Black keeps working. Hughes winds up and cracks Black with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Hughes is taking a breather. Black says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Hughes is nestled in close to Black, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hughes stalling away here and it's allowed Black to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Hughes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Black is looking to stand up but Hughes isn't so interested in that idea. Black takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Black working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes looking to pass the guard. Black can't keep his opponent in guard - Hughes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hughes is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hughes is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Black can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes with shots to the head and body - Black looks very uncomfortable down there.
Black is rocked! Black takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Hughes's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
