0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Link Pettis! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pettis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Johnson defends well and Pettis ends up having to push Johnson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Pettis wants a takedown.

Pettis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettis will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Johnson up against the cage. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Pettis has him pressed against the cage. Pettis tries for a takedown but Johnson manages to get underhooks.

Pettis passes into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pettis trying to control from half guard but Johnson is working away. Pettis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pettis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pettis prevents Johnson from standing back up.

Pettis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Johnson defends well and Pettis ends up having to push Johnson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Johnson is looking to control Pettis's arms but Pettis gets an underhook and turns him. Now Johnson has his back to the cage. Pettis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Pettis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pettis's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Pettis effectively controlling the action here. Pettis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Johnson wants to break the clinch but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson letting Pettis take a breather here. Pettis tries to land a knee to the head but Johnson blocks with his arms.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dwayne Johnson. I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
