Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Russell Wallace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stanimir Kurdov! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch lands to the side of Kurdov 's head but he takes it in his stride. Wallace misses with a hook. Wallace is looking to slow Kurdov down with leg kicks. Wallace digs a good body shot into Kurdov's ribs. Wallace misses with a hook. Wallace seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Wallace looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Kurdov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Russell Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wallace lands with a hook. Kurdov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wallace throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Wallace fails with a takedown attempt. Wallace throws a solid leg kick but Kurdov takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Wallace. Wallace misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurdov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Wallace paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Wallace lands a jab to Kurdov's midsection. Wallace with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Wallace tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kurdov was well out of range. Poor timing from Wallace. Wallace lands a big uppercut and Kurdov crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kurdov looks OK. Wallace waves Kurdov back to his feet!
It looks like Stanimir Kurdov has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch but Kurdov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wallace lands a big right hand that sends Kurdov crashing to the mat! Wallace stays standing though and waves Kurdov back to his feet!
Kurdov is rocked! Wallace scoring well with a low kick there.
Kurdov is still on wobbly legs! Can Wallace finish him? Wallace fails with the takedown so Kurdov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kurdov seems to have recovered his senses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace looking to control.
Kurdov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kurdov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wallace working for a triangle but Kurdov defends it easily.
Wallace is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wallace is trying to keep Kurdov in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurdov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Wallace trying to keep a closed guard but Kurdov is proving a slippery customer.

Russell Wallace has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Kurdov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wallace throws a leg kick and Kurdov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wallace's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kurdov throwing strikes from guard but Wallace blocks nicely. Kurdov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wallace is keeping the position for now. Wallace working for submissions but it's allowed Kurdov to get to half guard.
Kurdov controlling the action here. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallace lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kurdov's sensitive parts. Wallace fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kurdov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Wallace scores with a nice right hand.

Wallace fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Russell Wallace is winning the standup battle so far. Wallace throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wallace throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kurdov checks a low kick from Wallace. Wallace throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kurdov counters with a takedown into side control. Kurdov working away. Wallace is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kurdov off and has taken his back! Wallace is striking well from the back but Kurdov escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being. Wallace thows a huge punch but Kurdov dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace working over Kurdov with some ground and pound. Kurdov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kurdov wants to control but Wallace is keeping busy and won't allow it. Wallace missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wallace trying to control from Kurdov's half guard. Kurdov has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Wallace with a flurry of punches that miss. Wallace content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wallace working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace's corner is telling him to maintain position. Wallace in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wallace lands a couple of digs. Wallace is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kurdov can do to turn this around? Wallace seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kurdov keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace looking to sit in guard and control but Kurdov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Wallace escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kurdov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wallace is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wallace might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wallace pulls Kurdov in close to his closed guard and prevents Kurdov from doing any damage or advancing position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallace feints and then cracks Kurdov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kurdov down. Wallace is looking to slow Kurdov down with leg kicks. Wallace lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Wallace shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kurdov as he avoids it easily. Wallace will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kurdov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russell Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wallace lunges at Kurdov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kurdov's hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wallace connects with a body shot. Kurdov avoids the body shot from Wallace.
Wallace wants to clinch. Kurdov avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Kurdov moves away from the strike by Wallace. A swing and a miss from Kurdov.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace connects with the punch. Wallace fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Russell Wallace is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Wallace just misses with a punch to the body.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Wallace. Kurdov shrugs it off though. Wallace scores with a leg kick.
Wallace closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wallace lands in his opponent's guard. Stanimir Kurdov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wallace wants to control from the top but Kurdov keeps moving.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Wallace slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight! Russell Wallace showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wallace has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
