PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dawid Paluch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dawid Paluch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liddell shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Paluch napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Paluch is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Liddell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paluch keeps working.
Paluch trying to remain calm as Liddell controls from the top position.
Liddell is looking to take a break and control but Paluch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Liddell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Paluch is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dawid Paluch.
Liddell throws a nice looking combination but Paluch bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Paluch has a takedown stuffed.
Liddell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Liddell counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Paluch is lucky that one didn't land flush.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

David Liddell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Paluch had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Liddell defends it easily.

Liddell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Liddell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Paluch is trying to keep Liddell in close.

Liddell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Liddell darts in and clinches Paluch up against the cage.

Liddell jumps guard and drags Paluch to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Liddell wants to sweep here but Paluch controlling him for the moment.

Paluch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

David Liddell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

David Liddell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

David Liddell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Liddell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
