Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Elliott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fish Golden!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Elliott darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Golden keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Golden is looking to improve his position.
Elliott wants to stand but Golden has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Elliott working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Golden is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Elliott's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Elliott's back!

Elliott is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Golden has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Elliott has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

You can see the frustration on Elliott's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Golden looking to break Elliott's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Elliott remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Golden will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

That was a close round but I would say that Shane Elliott will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Golden connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Elliott is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Golden can't fight it off and eventually Elliott manages to take the fight to the floor. Golden looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Shane Elliott wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Elliott connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Golden momentarily.
Elliott tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Golden defends well and Elliott ends up having to push Golden into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Golden is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Shane Elliott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Fish Golden.

Elliott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Golden paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Shane Elliott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fish Golden.

Elliott shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Elliott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Golden on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Elliott tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Elliott has a takedown stuffed.
Golden shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Elliott as he avoids it easily.

Elliott changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Golden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Golden looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Elliott puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Golden takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Elliott is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Golden not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Elliott really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Golden has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Elliott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Elliott closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Elliott lands in his opponent's guard.

Well Elliott has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
