Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Conde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Barra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barra has chosen Walk Like A Warrior - Dead Prez as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rodrigo Barra acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barra blocks the body kick.

Conde feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Barra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Conde can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Barra looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Conde has picked Barra up and slammed him! Barra can't keep hold of the triangle and Conde manages to pass to side control!
Conde lands a nice forearm strike.
Barra is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Conde uses his free foot to push down on Barra's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Barra.
Barra is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Conde avoids the attempt from Barra to control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barra has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Conde is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Conde takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Barra is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Conde is trying to control the action in half guard but Barra is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Conde drops an elbow to the side of Barra's head.
Conde wants to pass the guard but Barra is defending well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A jab from Conde does it's job there.
No luck for Barra with that takedown attempt.
Conde connects with the punch.
A swing and a miss from Conde.
Conde misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Conde misses the target.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Conde's waist but Conde gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barra off to one side.

Barra tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Conde paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Conde throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Barra's head.
Barra ducks under a wild hook from Conde.

Fernando Conde seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Conde avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Conde! This one is all over!
