Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oh Yeah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DE Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yeah comes to the cage accompanied by Cannibal Corpse - Blood Drenched Execution. Thompson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. New York kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! DE Thompson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Thompson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson wants to control from the top but Yeah keeps moving.
Yeah avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Thompson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Thompson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yeah has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thompson has managed to get both his arms back between Yeah's legs - danger averted.

Yeah has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thompson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Thompson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Yeah's half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Thompson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yeah sprawls well initially but Thompson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Yeah manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Thompson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yeah working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thompson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Yeah is tightening it up a little... Thompson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Thompson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Thompson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Yeah!
