The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black tries a head kick but it misses.
Fatton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Black looks for the body kick but Fatton saw that one coming.
Fatton fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Black to the ground. Fatton is now in Black's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fatton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Fatton distracts Black with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Fatton drops back, looking for a kneebar! Black looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Black looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Black!

Fatton manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Black is trying to control. Fatton wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ricky Fatton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Black wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fatton keeps working.
Fatton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Black's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Black's back!

Black is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Fatton off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Fatton connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Black to escape the position.

Black defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Fatton's arms.
Fatton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
