Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tiger Mask (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mask kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Wait, what? OH MY GOD, Tiger has joined the Dark Side!!. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tiger Mask!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mask throws a body punch but Stevens moves out of range.
Mask misses with a body shot.
Mask checks the leg kick.
Stevens misses with a body shot.
Stevens defending well as Mask loads up on a big left hand.
Stevens misses with a looping right.
Stevens is looking to land body kicks.
Stevens closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mask lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mask. Stevens does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mask takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Stevens has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Mask misses with a kick to the body
and Stevens counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mask throws a push kick but Stevens slaps the foot to one side.
Mask throws the kick towards the body but Stevens avoids it.

Stevens forces Mask back against the cage and clinches.
Mask prevents a body shot from Stevens.
Mask is trying to push Stevens away but Stevens has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Stevens lands with a short shot to the head.

Stevens has had enough of the clinch but Mask keeps him there for the moment.
Mask wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mask lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Mask has Stevens pressed against the cage, preventing Stevens from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Stevens prevents a body shot from Mask.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Mask.
Mask doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Stevens has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mask is trying to keep an underhook but Stevens manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Stevens not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Stevens wants to pass the guard but Mask is keeping the position.
Stevens postures up in Mask's guard and throws a big left but Mask blocks it.
Mask is trying to control the position but Stevens postures up.

Mask has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Stevens is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mask.
Stevens happy to just control the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mask is looking for a sweep.
Mask regains half guard.
Mask is pressing down on Stevens's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Mask looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stevens is one step ahead there.
Stevens slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mask is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Mask is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mask has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dean Stevens hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Mask swings for the body but Stevens moves out of range.

A close round but Dean Stevens will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Stevens stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stevens wants it to stay on the feet.

Stevens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mask's guard.

Mask escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stevens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Well, if Stevens is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mask is looking for a sweep. Stevens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Stevens trying to control the action but Mask is working from the bottom.

Mask works his way to full guard. Good work.
Stevens is pushing down on Mask's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mask is fighting to maintain full guard but Stevens has managed to sneak the leg through.
Stevens winds up and cracks Mask with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Stevens perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Stevens looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mask with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stevens is taking a breather. Mask says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A close third round but Dean Stevens just about did enough to take it.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Mask throws a leg kick but Stevens sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Mask feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Stevens's calf.
Mask throws a solid leg kick but Stevens takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mask.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Tiger Mask will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mask's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Mask shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stevens eats them both and turns towards Mask to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Stevens counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Mask fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Stevens on the side of the head.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tiger Mask.
I think Stevens has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
