Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Josiah Bartlet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Mcdermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcdermott is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Broken Wings. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bartlet throws a sloppy head kick and Mcdermott moves out of range easily.
Bartlet is looking to score with low kicks.
Mcdermott closes the distance and clinches.
Mcdermott blocks the elbow strike.
Bartlet pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Mcdermott looking to stall.
Bartlet dodges an elbow strike from Mcdermott.
Bartlet breaks from the clinch.
A head kick misses from Bartlet.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Mcdermott.
Mcdermott is trying to get an arm triangle but Bartlet is defending well.
Bartlet's coaches at MediEval have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Mcdermott is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bartlet knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

With the fighters up against the cage, Bartlet throws an elbow but misses.
Bartlet creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Mcdermott's defenses.
Bartlet gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Bartlet manages to break the clinch.
Bartlet drives through and clinches with Mcdermott against the cage.
Mcdermott has Bartlet pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bartlet manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mcdermott has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bartlet after a bit of a struggle.

Bartlet gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Mcdermott jumps guard but Bartlet turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Josiah Bartlet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Mcdermott.
Bartlet lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Bartlet pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bartlet throws a leg kick which misses Mcdermott's front leg but catches the back leg as Mcdermott tries to avoid it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bartlet moves into the clinch.
Bartlet is pressed up against the cage. Mcdermott has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bartlet down to the mat. Bartlet avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bartlet fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mcdermott.
Bartlet throws a leg kick but Mcdermott checks it.
Bartlet chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Bartlet throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Bartlet connects with a leg kick. Mcdermott looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Mcdermott looks winded!
Bartlet tries to land a front kick but Mcdermott steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Mcdermott avoids the head kick by Bartlet.
Bartlet throws a head kick that misses.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bartlet.

Bartlet rushes Mcdermott and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mcdermott jumps guard but Bartlet stands there with Mcdermott around his waist. Mcdermott gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bartlet lands an elbow just above Mcdermott 's eye.
Mcdermott is trying to stall.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Bartlet.
Bartlet blocking some punches.
Mcdermott jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bartlet walks away with a smile on his face. Mcdermott gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mcdermott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bartlet sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcdermott somewhat.
Bartlet drives through and clinches with Mcdermott against the cage.
Mcdermott takes an elbow to the forehead.
Bartlet lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Mcdermott fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bartlet throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bartlet comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Bartlet lands an elbow inside that Mcdermott shrugs off.
Mcdermott is rocked!
Bartlet lands an elbow inside.
Mcdermott is still on wobbly legs! Can Bartlet finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bartlet scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Mcdermott is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Bartlet can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josiah Bartlet!
