The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz stuffs the takedown.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Nice straight punches there by Cruz. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cruz.
Kirhhoff tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cruz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kirhhoff somewhat.

and Kirhhoff counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cruz wants to control the position but Kirhhoff says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cruz is bucking up trying to escape but Kirhhoff cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Cruz throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Kirhhoff crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
