Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Franky Train! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Hogan! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Train looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Hogan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Train counters with a flying knee. Nice. Hogan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Train counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hogan is looking to take this one to the mat. Franky Train has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Hogan. Train prevents the takedown attempt.
Train goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hogan prevents it.
Train gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hogan.
Train drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hogan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Train gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hogan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hogan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Train can pounce on him.
Hogan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Train quickly recovers to half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Train wants to get back to his feet.
Hogan wants to work for an arm triangle but Train is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Train might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hogan looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Train is trying to stand back up but Hogan is controlling him
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hogan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Train is just riding it out for now. Hogan eventually gives up the hold. Train manages to escape and get back to his feet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Train scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Train drives through and clinches with Hogan against the cage.
Train breaks from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Train does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Hogan with a poor takedown enabling Train to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Joe Hogan has been cut. Hogan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Train. Hogan with a poor takedown and Train counters with a nice leg kick. Train explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Train moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Train looks to land a combination but Hogan avoids it well. Train lands with a right that hurts Hogan. Hogan looks to clinch but Train throws a short knee that drops Hogan. This one is all over!
