Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Genki Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jasper Corpuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Genki Sudo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Genki Sudo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jasper Corpuz! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sudo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Sudo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Corpuz backs up against the cage.
Sudo is looking to clinch but Corpuz is avoiding it.
Sudo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Corpuz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Corpuz showed some decent athleticism there. Corpuz wants to control but Sudo is keeping him busy. Sudo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Corpuz on the ground. Corpuz moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Sudo. Sudo is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corpuz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Corpuz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Corpuz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Sudo is being controlled here. Sudo can't do much from the bottom here. Corpuz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sudo, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sudo prevents Corpuz from improving position. Sudo tries to improve position but can't. Sudo struggling a bit here. Corpuz is looking to take a break and control but Sudo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sudo regains half guard there - taking advantage of Corpuz's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corpuz is looking for a kimura here.
Corpuz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sudo wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Corpuz is pressing down on Sudo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sudo is holding on for now. Sudo wants to get back to his feet.
Corpuz is looking to take a break and control but Sudo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Corpuz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Sudo really wants to buck Corpuz off and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jasper Corpuz dominated that round. That's time! Sudo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sudo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Sudo misses with a head kick.
Sudo shoots and misses and Corpuz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Corpuz. Corpuz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sudo is keeping the position for now. Sudo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Corpuz is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sudo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Corpuz's back instead. Corpuz manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sudo's guard. Nice work there by Corpuz.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Corpuz passes Sudo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corpuz trying to control from half guard but Sudo is working away. Corpuz is looking for a kimura here.
Corpuz is trying to control the action in half guard but Sudo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Corpuz trying to mount his opponent but Sudo defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Corpuz wants to take a breather but Sudo is having none of it. Sudo trying to control from the bottom.
Corpuz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Corpuz working for a guillotine from mount but Sudo is in no mood to give up. Sudo tries to lock up and control but Corpuz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corpuz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sudo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Corpuz jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sudo manages to avoid the submission attempt. Corpuz advances to full mount. Sudo tries to control the position but Corpuz now has his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corpuz patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Corpuz is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Corpuz wants to control but Sudo is keeping busy. Corpuz is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Sudo won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Corpuz off his unconscious opponent!
